S&P Global: Russia’s Manufacturing PMI grows to 50.8 in May
MOSCOW, Jun 1 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 50.8 in May from 48.2 in April, rising above the no-change level of 50 and signaling a first month of expansion, research agency S&P Global said in a statement on Wednesday.
Researcher Markit recently joined S&P Global, before that the index was called IHS Markit PMI.
"Slower declines in output, new orders, employment and stocks of purchases all helped to boost the seasonally adjusted S&P Global Russia Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index™ (PMI) to 50.8 in May, up from 48.2 in April, to signal a renewed upturn in the performance of the Russian manufacturing sector," the statement read.
Manufacturing output and new orders continued to decline in May due to sanctions, the researchers said.
